Majestic Lion Antique Center offers benefits few other antique malls can offer, and our
policies have been created in order to guarantee the integrity of our dealers' merchandise.
The advantages of being a dealer at Majestic Lion include:
A spectacular Interstate location which exposes us to the Midwest's highest volume of both East/West (I-80)
and North/South (I-35) travelers. Des Moines, Iowa is also a major business hub and a center for commerce,
government and education. If you want customers for your merchandise, we can deliver them.
Majestic Lion is owner-operated with the owners actively involved in the Mall's daily operations, so questions
can be answered, problems can be resolved and decisions can be made quickly. One or more of the owners
is usually on-premises and available to both dealers and customers.
A knowledgeable, friendly staff is always available to help locate specific items.
We invest heavily in aggressive advertising, including interstate billboards, popular antique and travel
publications, and Des Moines-area consumer media. We also plan several promotions each year
to help stimulate traffic and move our dealers' merchandise.
Majestic Lion uses the industry's most sophisticated computerized sales system
which allows us to provide our dealers with accurate sales data at all times.
Our sales commissions are below the area average(see below)
To encourge in-house buying between our dealers, we charge no sales commission on items sold
by one Majestic Lion dealer to another Majestic Lion dealer.
In addition to offering booth space in various sizes and spacious, well-lit showcases, we also
permit our dealers to use their own locked, lighted displays in their booths.
Pay periods are bi-monthly rather than monthly.
We collect and pay all sales tax due to the State of Iowa.
Dealers are permitted to bring in merchandise and work their booths whenever the Mall is open.
Dealers are not required to work in the Mall.
Financial Information
Booth Rental - Approximately $1.55 per square foot with various sizes available.
Lights are permitted in booths for an additional $4.00 per month;
Locked showcases are permitted in booths for an additional $5.00 per month
Showcase Rental - $65.00 per mo. for first case; $60.00 per mo. for each additional case.
Showcases are generously large (3ft x 7ft with 20 inch deep shelves).
Sales Commission - 8% commission charged on each item sold up to $1,000 (area average 10%);
6% commission charged on each item sold in excess of $1000.
Credit Card Fee - We share the credit card fee, dealers are charged 1% for any credit card charges,
Majestic Lion pays the other 1%. No fee is charged on sales paid by cash or check.
Rent is withheld from checks on a bi-monthly basis, half each pay period.
We charge 12 monthly rental periods rather than 13 four-week rent periods as is the industry norm.
